Saturday, March 1, 2014: Vancouver Gaelic Society Ceilidh
Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver, BC
Ceilidh starts 8pm, Doors open 7:30pm, admission $12
Saturday April 5th, 2014 SFU Tartan Day Celebration, held at SFU's Morris Wosk Centre for Dialogue, Room 100, Asia Pacific Hall 580 West Hastings Street, Vancouver. The entrance is located on Seymour Street just south of Hastings Street.
The theme will be "Scotland's Future", and will feature a talk by HumzaYousaf, Scotland’s Minister for External Affairs and International Development, regarding Scotland's upcoming Independence vote.
Entertainment: Vancouver Gaelic Choir, The Junior North Shore Celtic Ensemble, and Highland dancer Fiona Lee
The event starts at 10:00 am, Doors open 9:45 am, Admission: free
Saturday May 3, 2014: Vancouver Gaelic Society Ceilidh at the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver, BC
Featuring 'Seirm',Seattle's Gaelic music instrumental and singing group. Seirm was formed in 1995 as a Gaelic Choir in order to participate in Mòd Vancouver 1997, and they participated in all the subsequent Mòd Vancouver events.
Seirm's members now include instrumentalists and singers, and their program this evening will include tune sets for dancing as well as traditional Gaelic music & song.
Singers from the Vancouver and Victoria Gaelic Choirs will join Seirm in singing some of the old favourite Gaelic songs from past Mòd Vancouver performances. The ceilidh starts at 7:30 pm, admission $12.
During the afternoon, we will be presenting the following free workshops at the Scottish Cultural Centre: 12 noon - 1 pm: Introduction to Scottish Gaelic, presented by Seumas Gagne, Seirm
1 pm - 2 pm: Traditional instrumental music session featuring Seirm musicians and local participants - all welcome!
2.15 - 4.15 pm: History of Gaelic in Vancouver presentation: This presentation will feature the history of the Gaelic Society, The Vancouver Gaelic Choir, and the Mod Vancouver festivals.

special guests Piper Ed MacIlwaine and Harpists Seumas Gagne & Jason Kies
Concert starts at 2:00 pm Admission $15 - Seniors & Students $10 .
